What is Polygonum?

Used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2000 years, Polygonum is packed with Resveratrol, a compound rich in anti-aging and antioxidant properties.  It increases circulation, which in turn delivers antimicrobial effects on the skin and stimulates collagen production.  Polygonum also decreases melanin production, assisting in the fight against hyperpigmentation.*

Polygonum in Traditional Chinese Medicine

In traditional Chinese medicine, Polygonum was used topically to treat skin irritation and inflammation.  It has also been used to treat headaches, muscle aches, dizziness, graying hair, and as a tonic for liver and kidney conditions.*

This herb is taken as a longevity herb that protects the hair, skin, and teeth against aging. It nourishes the blood, keeps  the skin moist, and reduces inflammation and redness. It can also be used to treat soreness of the low back and legs as well as constipation all due to aging. 

This is one of the most important anti-aging herbs in TCM.

 

How to Take Polygonum
